Football London claims that FIFA guidelines require players to be given at least 21 days off after summer internationals before the new season starts.
So, why is Juan Foyth already back in pre-season training? The Argentine was originally due to return with the other Copa America and African Cup of Nations stars, Davinson Sanchez, Victor Wanyama, and Serge Aurier next week.
However, despite the fact that Foyth played more recently than any of these players (July 6), Juan Foyth returned in just ten days or so to board the plane to Singapore for a pre-season tour.
Not only this, but the young Argentine only married his childhood sweetheart, Ariana, a few days ago, meaning that his honeymoon is also on hold.
All of this points towards big things for Foyth next season, with Football London claiming that Pochettino may have offered the 21-year-old a new job as a Tottenham right-back.
This comes after Kieran Trippier was sold to Atletico Madrid yesterday and Serge Aurier is reportedly up for sale this summer too.
Could we see Juan Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters as the two first-team right-backs next season?
