Report reveals why Harry Kane is being forced to miss the start of pre-season training

The Daily Mail has revealed that Harry Kane will miss the start of Tottenham’s pre-season training after being asked to self-isolate for 14 days on his return to the UK from the Bahamas.

The Spurs squad began pre-season training on Monday, with many players pictured being put through their paces at Hotspur Way.

However, The Mail reveals that Kane has not yet returned to training yet and will only be able to do so after quarantining himself for two weeks.

Although the Bahamas was reportedly not on the UK government’s quarantine list when Kane travelled to the island nation, it was included in the revised list published on August 8.

The England captain has frequently visited the Bahamas in the past, including for his engagement party in 2017 as well as during his rehabilitation from his hamstring injury earlier this year.

The report reveals that Kane missing the start of pre-season training is not expected to be a big blow for the Lilywhites, with the striker being known to keep himself in optimal shape even during the close season.

This should not be a big problem for Kane’s fitness since he can always do individual sessions to get himself back into shape. Additionally, the short break between the seasons means that the players should come back fitter than they usually do for pre-season. However, the striker might miss some or all of our pre-season friendlies, which could have served as great opportunities to build up his match sharpness heading into the first few games of the season.
