Report reveals why Jose Mourinho wants to bring Gareth Bale back to Tottenham

El Espanyol have reported that Jose Mourinho is keen to bring Gareth Bale back to Spurs because he believes that he can get the Welshman back to his best.

Bale has endured a rough past couple of seasons in Madrid as he has seen his time on the pitch cut down and his relationship with the club seemingly fall even further.

Zinedine Zidane even told the media recently that Bale had asked not to be a part of the travelling squad to face Man City in the Champions League this month.

Spanish publication, Cuatro reported only yesterday that Bale now desires a return to Tottenham, the club at which he made his name on the global stage.

El Espanyol now reiterate these claims, reporting that Tottenham and Mourinho would welcome the former star back with open arms this summer. However, the winger’s wages are likely to prove a stumbling block in any potential move.

Bale scored 55 goals in 203 games at Tottenham and the club are now arguably in a better position to win trophies than when the Welshman left for bigger things in 2013 (Wikipedia).
