The Athletic have revealed that Tanguy Ndombele is considering his future after being overlooked by Nuno Espirito Santo in pre-season.
Although Spurs fans caught a glimpse of Ndombele in the open training session at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week, the midfielder did not play a single minute in any of the club’s pre-season fixtures.
The midfielder, who has been linked with a move away from N17 this summer, failed to make the matchday squad on Sunday as the Lilywhites emerged 1-0 victors over their local rivals, Arsenal.
After the game, Nuno Espirito Santo admitted the 24-year-old was not injured, stating simply that it was not ‘the right moment’ for the former Lyon man to be involved.
The Athletic have now revealed that Ndombele was overlooked by Nuno for the match on Sunday despite training with the team leading up to the encounter.
The report claims the French international is now considering his future at the North London club. It is asserted the midfielder will see what his situation is at the end of August by which time Tottenham would have played their first three Premier League games.
However, Spurs are still said to be hopeful that Ndombele will turn out to be a success at the club.

Nuno is now the fourth different manager to have some reservations about Tanguy (counting Mason as well). So, the blame can only be laid on the feet of the player.
If his issues are fitness related (which is a reasonable guess), then the fault lies with Tottenham’s recruitment department.
One would have expected the club to have carried out significant research on his athleticism, professionalism and attitude before deciding to pay a club-record £55m fee for him.
As talented as Ndombele is on the ball, I am starting to come around to the idea that we might be better off cashing in on him this summer.
