Report: Paratici and Spurs are ready ‘to get serious’ in midfielder pursuit

Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that Fabio Paratici is keen on adding another midfielder to the Tottenham squad before the transfer market closes and has set his sights on Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez.

Nandez has enjoyed two solid campaigns since leaving Boca Juniours to join the Serie A club back in 2019.

Reports over recent days have indicated that Spurs are ready to offer €30m (£25.6m) for the Cagliari star, who is also thought to be attracting interest from Inter Milan (Sky Italia – as relayed by Sempre Inter).

Journalist Francesco Porzio has also revealed the Uruguay international is a ‘serious target’ for Tottenham and that the North London club have opened talks to sign him.

Di Marzio has now shed more light onto Spurs’ pursuit by revealing that Paratici is keen to hand Nuno Espirito Santo another reliable midfielder before the transfer window shuts.

The journalist also added that the Lilywhites are ready ‘to get serious’ in their pursuit of Nandez.

Given that Nandez is an option to play in the two-man midfield pivot, his arrival would likely mean that both Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko are set to leave before the end of the month.
