Report reveals why some Spurs players are angry with Mourinho after Newcastle draw

Some of Jose Mourinho’s comments following Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-2 draw against Newcastle United have left some of his squad angry, according to Football.London.

The Portuguese was quizzed by the media after the final whistle at St James’ Park about the whereabouts of Serge Aurier and Toby Alderweireld, after both players were nowhere to be seen on Tyneside.

Mourinho claimed that the pair were absent due to missed Covid tests, however, the report suggests that the manager may have been factually incorrect about Alderweireld.

The 58-year-old reacted to the question by suggesting that Aurier and Alderweireld would not have been the reason to avoid defeat.

It is said that Mourinho’s latest outburst may do him no favours within the dressing room and he may need to be careful or it could contribute to his demise as Mauricio Pochettino’s successor.

Spurs came from behind in the match after Harry Kane scored a brace, but once again individual mistakes cost the North Londoners dearly as their top four hopes were dealt a severe blow.
