Given the close relationship that Jose Mourinho shares with Willian, it is perhaps not surprising that the Chelsea star has been linked to a reunion with the Portuguese coach at Spurs.

Multiple reports over the last few months have installed Spurs as the favourites to sign the winger, who will become a free agent at the end of this week (Mundo Deportivo).

However, the experienced wide man has remained adamant that he does not have an agreement in place with any club over a transfer (Gustavo Hofman’s YouTube channel).

Sky Sports have now reported that this week will be crucial in determining the Brazilian international’s future.

It is alleged that Willian could yet agree on a new contract with the Blues before the end of the week, with Frank Lampard said to be hopeful that a new deal can be agreed.

Even if the former Anzhi Makhachkala man is not able to come to an agreement with Chelsea, it looks as if Tottenham may have a battle on their hands to land him.

It is revealed that Manchester United, Barcelona, and even David Beckham’s Inter Miami have all asked to be kept informed of Willian’s availability.

Spurs Web Opinion

Willian is another player with whom links have died down recently. I can see us being in for him as Jose clearly likes him a lot but if he becomes a free agent, clubs across Europe will likely be clamouring to get him. On the back of his performances this season, I would also not be surprised if Chelsea offer him the three-year deal that he wants.
