Report: Right-back wanted by Spurs could be available for £39m this summer

Barcelona defender Nelson Semedo, who has previously been linked with a move to Spurs, could be available for around £39 million this summer, according to reports from Spain.

While Serge Aurier’s form has improved considerably this season, the Ivorian is the only recognised right-back at the club at present after Walker-Peters was loaned out.

The Lilywhites are reportedly in the market for a right-back, with Norwich City’s Max Aarons said to be the club’s top target (Football Insider).

Semedo is also said to be a long-term target for the Lilywhites, according to Spanish outlet Don Balon.

Sport now reports that the Portuguese full-back is having doubts over committing his future to Barcelona.

The report reveals that the Catalan giants have offered Semedo a new contract but the defender wants a guarantee of regular first-team football before putting pen to paper on the deal.

If the defender does not sign the contract, it is suggested that Barcelona will put him up for sale for around £39 million this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

If we are to go for a young, attacking right-back, I would much rather we signed Max Aarons than Semedo. Aarons will be cheaper and he comes with a year of Premier League experience under his belt. I also believe the Norwich star has a higher ceiling than Semedo.
