Report: Right-back who Spurs have kept tabs on becomes priority for PSG

Paris Saint-Germain could be ready to step up their interest in RB Leipzig defender Nordi Mukiele who has previously been linked with a move to Spurs.

Sky Sports reported in January that Tottenham have been long time admirers of the 22-year-old and that the Lilywhites wanted to bring the defender to North London before he joined the German outfit from Montpellier in 2018.

Le10Sport report that PSG are looking for defensive reinforcements in the summer and have identified Mukiele as one of their main targets.

It is the young defender’s versatility that the Ligue 1 champions are said to find particularly appealing, with his ability to play as a full-back and in central defence fitting the profile which PSG are looking for.

Sky Sports claimed in January the Spurs have continued to monitor the progess of Mukiele and could be in the market for a new right-back this summer.

Following the sale of Kieran Tripper prior to the start of the campaign, Kyle Walker-Peters started for first three Premier League games of the season only to be sent on loan to Southampton in January which left Serge Aurier as Jose Mourinho’s only senior right-back at the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

We have been linked with a long list of right-back options over the past few months but Max Aarons is the one that makes the most sense for the club. The Norwich star likely won’t be too expensive, will come with a year of Premier League experience under his belt and would help us in fulfilling our homegrown criteria.
