Report: Rival club may pull out of race for Tottenham summer target

Football Insider have reported that Scottish giants, Rangers may pull out of the race for Wigan starlet, Kyle Joseph ahead of the summer transfer window.

Joseph looks set to become a free agent in the summer and the 19-year-old striker is highly sought over in the market.

The report claims that Rangers call it a day on their pursuit as Celtic have already submitted an offer, while Newcastle are also said to be interested.

Last month, it was also reported that Tottenham were looking to compile a dossier on the Wigan striker before deciding on whether to make a move for him.

Compensation rules state that Spurs and Newcastle would have to pay Wigan around £1m if they signed Joseph, while Celtic would need only pay £300,000.

However, last week, Football Insider revealed that Celtic were in contact with Joseph over handing him a long-term contract in Scotland.

If these reports are to be believed, it suggests that the four-horse race for Kyle Joseph has now become a three-horse race including Celtic, Newcastle and maybe Spurs.
