Report: Rival club reach £60m agreement for Spurs-linked Vlahovic

Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Football Italia) are now reporting that Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Fiorentina for the transfer of rumoured Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic.

Vlahovic, who netted 21 goals in the Serie A last campaign, is thought to be of interest to both Spurs and Atletico.

It was alleged last week that Tottenham had offered €60m (£51m) including bonuses for the Serbian international, who has just two years left to run on his contract at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.

Sources in Italy even suggested the Lilywhites were prepared to offer the centre-forward almost double the salary of what Fiorentina were prepared to offer during their negotiations with the player over a new contract.

However, it now looks as though Atletico have moved ahead of Spurs in the race for Vlahovic, with Corriere dello Sport claiming the La Liga giants have had a €70m (£59.7m) offer for the striker accepted.

The report adds that Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso will have the final say on the transfer when he returns to Italy today.

Spurs Web Opinion

It will be telling whether or not Spurs match Atletico’s bid in the coming hours. Paratici clearly seems to rate Vlahovic highly but the only way I can see the club bidding £60m+ for a forward is if the club expect Kane to leave.
