Report: Roma eyeing Tottenham midfielder as Paratici could hold meeting

Roma have identified Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele as a target and could meet with Fabio Paratici this week to discuss a potential transfer, according to Roma Giallorossa.

The Serie A side have reportedly turned their attention towards Ndombele, 26, and view him as a viable option to bolster Jose Mourinho’s options in midfield this summer.

The report adds Roma chief Tiago Pinto could meet with Paratici in Milan to discuss a move, although the Spurs managing director is also eyeing a switch for Nicolo Zaniolo.

It is claimed the talented winger, who is valued at €50 million (£42.5m), could head in the opposite direction, however, a transaction is likely to be separate and not a swap deal.

Spurs are planning to offload Ndombele this summer with Antonio Conte making it clear that the Frenchman is not part of his plans ahead of the new campaign (Evening Standard).

Returning to the club over the summer after an unsuccessful loan spell with Lyon, he was one of four players to be left out of the Italian’s squad for the pre-season trip to South Korea.

There could be potential for Spurs to secure a swap for Zaniolo especially if Roma want Ndombele, but they seem pretty clear that any deal is expected to be separate.

Serie A could be a good place for Ndombele, but again the big issue is whether a club like Roma would be able to afford a transfer and go for a loan instead, which is unlikely what Spurs want.
