Report: Roma slap price tag on Spurs-linked Nicolo Zaniolo

Tottenham Hotspur target Nicolo Zaniolo is said to now carry a whopping £63m price tag, according to Sky Italia.

The attacker is only 19-years-old, but has enjoyed a sensational season for the Italian side, scoring six goals and setting up a further two.

Zaniolo also already boasts two senior caps for his country, Italy, providing more proof as to his rapid growth in the past season.

The Guardian reported last week that Tottenham have already held talks with Zaniolo’s agent about a possible move this summer.

However, £63m would be a club record move for Tottenham, and paying that much for a teenager would be rather off brand for Daniel Levy.

Tottenham are still looking to bolster their attacking options with young players for next season though, after already bidding £53m for Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis (BBC).

Spurs Web Opinion:

This one is a no from me. After having played just the one season at the very top, and still being just 19-years-old, £63m is far too much to pay for Zaniolo, in my opinion. I would much rather see Levy spend that money on any of the following: James Maddison, Donny Van de Beek, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Giovani Lo Celso, and more.
