Report rubbishes claim that Spurs are set to complete transfer

The Evening Standard have claimed that there is no truth to reports that Tottenham Hotspur are set to swoop for Beijing Guoan central defender Kim Min-jae.

Spurs have been linked heavily with the South Korea international recently with rumours seemingly gathering pace over the last couple of days.

Sports.news.naver via TEAMtalk claimed that Tottenham were close to striking a deal for the 23-year-old, while KBS reported that a fee had been agreed and that Kim was set to travel to London to complete his medical.

Football.London were a bit more reserved with their take on the transfer as they suggested that Spurs still had a bit of work to do to get the deal over the line.

They also reiterated that the North Londoners held discussions with Beijing Guoan and were hopeful of completing the transfer.

However, The Evening Standard have claimed that there is no truth to reports that claim Kim is on his way to Spurs.

They also dismiss suggestions that the defender has boarded a flight to London to put the finishing touches on the transfer.

With contradictory reports doing the rounds, only time will tell if there is any truth to these reports. The fact that so many media outlets in Asia are reporting it, combined with Jose failing to deny the rumour in his press conference, suggests that we might well hold some interest in Kim.
