Report: Rumoured Conte target could leave Inter Milan on a free this summer

TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that Ivan Perisic, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, could leave Inter Milan for free at the end of the season if the Serie A club do not meet his contract demands.

Perisic’s current contract with Inter runs out at the end of the season and it was reported at the start of December that Tottenham had opened talks with the winger.

Inter Live then claimed that Spurs were facing competition from Wolfsburg for the 32-year-old’s signature, with the player alleged to be keen on reuniting with Antonio Conte in North London.

If TMW’s latest update is to be believed, Tottenham might have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Perisic due to the developments in the player’s contract negotiations with Inter.

It is explained that there is still a big difference between the Croat’s contract demands and what the Nerrazuri are willing to offer.

Perisic is said to have asked for a salary of around €6m (£5m), a figure that Inter are not willing to pay.

It is asserted that the experienced wide man could leave the San Siro on a free transfer in the summer should another club be willing to pay him that amount.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not convinced that Spurs hold a serious interest in Perisic. The speculation likely stems from the Conte connection more than anything else. I suspect Paratici and Conte will be looking at players of a younger profile as part of their rebuild at Tottenham.
