Report: Rumoured Spurs striker target also on Man City radar

According to a report from The Daily Mirror, rumoured Tottenham target Danny Ings is also on Manchester City’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

Previous reports indicated that Spurs are exploring the possibility of snapping up Ings, who is set to run into the final year of his contract and is stalling on signing a new deal with Southampton.

The Mirror now claim that City could also swoop for the England international in the summer as they seek to replace Sergio Aguero.

The report reveals that Erling Haaland is the number one target for Pep Guardiola’s men to replace the Argentine legend but the club are not willing to get embroiled in a £100m-plus bidding war with Chelsea and Manchester United for the Norwegian.

They have thus earmarked Ings as a potential alternative, with Guardiola said to have been impressed by the Southampton star’s movement and goal threat.

The report goes on to reveal that Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men have offered the striker a £100,000-a-week contract offer but the former Liverpool man is said to be demanding a £20m release clause.

Given that City are arguably the only club in the Premier League that would likely be able to afford Kane, the news that they are reluctant to spend over £100m on a striker comes as good news for Spurs.

With neither Real Madrid nor Barcelona in a position to spend £150m-plus on the Tottenham star in the summer due to their financial owes, Kane might not have any potential suitors this summer.
