Report: Rumoured Spurs target completes £25m move to Lazio

Tuttomercatoweb are reporting that Hellas Verona have agreed to sell rumoured Spurs target Marash Kumbulla to Lazio for £25 million.

Kumbulla has been a rock at the back for Verona in their first season back in the Italian top flight and is reportedly wanted by several clubs across Europe, including Tottenham (Firenze Viola).

The North Londoners were backed to make an approach for the 20-year-old, who they allegedly saw as a replacement for Jan Vertonghen (Gazzette dello Sport via Sport Witness).

However, TMW now report that Lazio have won the race for the Albanian international’s signature.

The report reveals that the Serie A side promised the young defender that he would be a regular in the side as they hope to mount another assault on the title next season.

Kumbulla has reportedly agreed a five-year deal worth just £25,000-a-week with Simone Inzaghi’s side, which may come as disappointing news to Tottenham.

Spurs Web Opinion

Kumbulla has displayed plenty of positive attributes this season and he might go on to become a great defender. However, it would have been a risk for us to go for him on the back of one good season in the Italian top flight. I suspect he was not at the top of our list of centre-back targets.
