Report: Rumoured Spurs target could leave Bundesliga club in the summer

According to a report by Sport Bild, Florian Neuhaus, who has been linked with a summer move to Tottenham Hotspur could be one of the players who could leave Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of the season.

Neuhaus has been one of Gladbach’s most consistent performers over the past two seasons and is rated as one of the best young midfield talents in the Bundesliga.

Sport 1 reported in January that Tottenham were competing with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich for the midfielder’s signature, with the German international having a £34.5m release clause in his contract.

The 23-year-old has refused to get drawn into the speculation over his future and insisted that he was instead focused on playing football.

However, SportBild claim that he could be on his way out in the summer if Gladbach’s do not arrest their slide down the table.

They are ten points adrift of the Champions League places and seven off the Europa League spots.

Marco Rose’s side have lost five successive games in all competitions and it is suggested that should they fail to qualify for European competition next season, Nehaus will be one of many big-name players to leave Borussia Park in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Signing a player of Nehaus’ quality for under £35m would represent terrific value for money. However, I would not be surprised if he ends up at Bayern Munich next season. I believe Spurs are much more likely to go in for Marcel Sabitzer, who could potentially be available for an even lower fee due to his contract situation.
