Report: Rumoured Spurs target hospitalised after suffering health scare

According to a report in L’Equipe, Lille striker Victor Osimhen, who has been linked with a move to Spurs in January, will spend a second consecutive night in hospital after suffering a health scare.

After finding the back of the net against Monaco on Tuesday, the 19-year-old was substituted after just 23 minutes into Lille’s 3-0 win after he complained of dizziness.

The Nigerian reportedly passed cardiothoracic tests on Tuesday as well as Wednesday, and will reportedly take another precautionary one on Thursday before being discharged. Thankfully, there is no indication that the tests have shown anything that the striker has anything to be concerned about.

Jeunes Footeux reported earlier this week ago that Jose Mourinho is keen on landing Osimhen as a back up to Harry Kane.

The teenager has already notched up twelve goals and four assists for the Ligue 1 club in all competitions so far this season (transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

If he was indeed one of the club’s targets in January, then let’s hope there is no permanent issue with Osimhen. However, I don’t see the sense in buying another young striker with potential when we already have Troy Parrott at the club. I would much rather see the club bring in an experienced target man like Edin Dzeko who can give us a more direct option if things are going our way in certain games.
