Report: Rumoured Spurs target likely to leave PL club as free agent next summer

The Athletic have revealed that Wolves winger Adama Traore, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, is expected to leave Molineux Stadium as a free agent next summer.

Tottenham reportedly came close to signing Traore during the January transfer window with Antonio Conte allegedly wanting to convert the winger into a right wing-back (TEAMtalk).

However, the 26-year-old snubbed Spurs’ offer to join Barcelona on loan instead, and things did not go as planned for him at Camp Nou as he struggled for game time.

The Spaniard is now back at Wolves after the Catalan giants decided not to take up the option to sign him permanently.

90 min reported last week that despite signing Djed Spence from Middlesbrough this summer, Spurs are still on the lookout for another right wing-back and the North London club could reignite their interest in Traore.

However, The Athletic have now claimed that the pacy wide-man is expected to remain at Wolves for the upcoming campaign.

The report states that Traore has rejected a contract offer from the West Midlands club and that the most likely scenario as things stand is that he will leave as a free agent when his contract runs out in 12 months.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect Spurs were only eyeing Traore as an option for the right wing-back role due to the lack of available options during the January transfer window. It does not appear as if the Wolves star is on the north London club’s radar any longer.
