Football.London have suggested that rumoured Tottenham target James Maddison may have sent a transfer hint with his latest social media antics.

Maddison’s future has been the subject of a lot of speculation over recent months, with the midfielder now into the final 18 months of his contract at the King Power Stadium (Transfermarkt).

Football Insider claimed a couple of months ago that the Leicester star would jump at the chance to join the Lilywhites while some publications have also suggested over recent months that the 26-year-old is on Newcastle’s radar (The Northern Echo).

CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs stated on January 6th that Spurs remain the ‘one to watch’ with respect to Maddison but the attacking midfielder ended up staying put at Leicester.

His future is once again likely to come under the microscope ahead of the summer and Football.London have now suggested that he may have sent a transfer hint.

The publication reveals that Maddison changed his profile picture on Instagram from one that had him, Jamie Vardy and the Leicester owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha posing with the FA Cup, to him in an England kit.

The report suggests that the timing of the change is particularly telling as Leicester completed the singing of Tete over the weekend, with the Brazilian potentially being Maddison’s replacement.

Spurs Web Opinion

Maddison’s decision to change his profile picture might not have anything to do with his future but it looks fairly certain that the midfielder will leave the Foxes in the summer unless he signs a new contract at the club, which looks extremely unlikely.

However, I would be surprised if Tottenham made a move for the 26-year-old I do not see him as a Conte-type player, owing to his shortcomings out of possession.
