Report: Rumoured Spurs target reporting to be demanding lucrative contract

According to a report in Corriere Dello Sport, rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Paulo Dybala is demanding a massive pay rise in order to stay with Juventus.

Dybala famously came close to a deadline day move to Tottenham last summer but the deal did not go through due to complications with his image rights ownership (Independent).

The Argentine has since had a fantastic campaign for Old Lady, scoring 17 times and assisting on 14 occasions in all competitions lastseason (transfermarkt.com).

Gazzetta dello Sport (via The Express) reported earlier this week that Spurs could reignite their interest in Dybala this summer after Juventus are rumoured to be ready to listen to offers.

Corriere Dello Sport now claims that the 27-year-old is demanding a deal worth £18m-per-year in order to stay in Turin.

That would make the forward the second-highest earner at the club behind Cristiano Ronaldo.

The report suggests that Juve are not in a position to meet those demands at the moment.

It is revealed in the same report that Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun has denied that the player has made any such demands.

Spurs Web Opinion

I can foresee Dybala leaving Juventus this summer given Juve’s financial difficulties. They could cash in on him in order to allow Pirlo to bring his own players in. However, the Argentine’s price would have gone up from last year and I cannot see us meeting either his asking price or his salary demands.
