Report: Rumoured Spurs transfer target could be out injured until February

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto could reportedly be sidelined until at least February through injury (The Athletic).

The Portuguese star fractured his knee cap in April and, although it was rumoured that he would return in October, it is now believed he will miss a huge chunk of the season, with a return not likely until February.

Spurs were linked with the 21-year-old starlet this summer. Reports claimed in July that Tottenham had made an enquiry to Wolves for their star man.

The article also suggsted that Liverpool and Juventus had enquired about the possibility of signing Neto.

Neto’s injury surely sees any potential deal this summer rendered null and void. It is a massive setback for the young player who was making big strides at Wolves under Nuno last season.

The Portuguese international hit 11 combined goals and assists in the league last year, earning plaudits for his trickery and direct pace. However, it now appears Wolves fans will be waiting a while to see it again.

Such a shame. Neto is a great talent but injuries are hindering his progress and he also obviously won’t get his move. I’m sure that Nuno would have liked to bring in a player that he has worked closely with in the past.
