Tottenham Hotspur may have finally found a way to get Tanguy Ndombele off their books, as Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq are rumoured to be interested in signing the Frenchman, but they will face competition from Rennes.
Tanguy Ndombele is arguably the most disappointing signing Spurs have ever made. A club record signing, the midfielder has failed to live up to his hype, and has been pushed out of the club on loan a number of times now.
His latest move, a season-long spell with Turkish side Galatasaray, offers little hope of a redemption story. Ndombele has played 541 minutes across 18 appearances in all competitions, registering just one goal (Transfermarkt).
After hardly setting the world alight at his current club, the future remains uncertain for Ndombele, with the only certainty being that Ange Postecoglou does not want him at Tottenham.
However, until recently, it was believed that Spurs would struggle to generate any real interest in Ndombele, at least not the kind of interest that would lead to a transfer fee being received for the player (GiveMeSport).

Is Ndombele heading to Saudi Arabia?
That may be about to change, though, after a report from TuttoMercatoWeb has linked the player with a move to Saudi Arabia and Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq team.
The report claims Tottenham may look to “interrupt” his current loan spell in the hopes of finding a new home for the player. With Al-Ettifaq recently losing Jordan Henderson, it is thought they may be keen to give Ndombele a try.
In addition, French side Rennes could also be prepared to take a gamble on Ndombele, as they look for a replacement for Nemanja Matic.
There is no mention of any fees or whether the proposals from either team would be temporary or permanent at this stage.
Spurs Web Opinion
If we got any kind of offer from Saudi Arabia—and let’s be honest, it would probably be an inflated fee—then we should grab it with both hands and finally get rid of Ndombele once and for all.
