Report: Second European club join race for Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier

Sky Sports have now reported that German club Bayer Leverkusen have joined AC Milan in the race for Serge Aurier this week.

The Bundesliga outfit, Leverkusen, are said to have expressed an interest in the right-back who has just two years left on his current Tottenham contract.

Aurier had been the firm first choice for Jose Mourinho since the Special One joined Spurs in November, often occupying a specially devised right-wing-back spot in the XI.

The Ivorian is actually Tottenham’s only remaining first-team right-back, with Kyle Walker-Peters having left earlier in the transfer window to join Southampton.

Sky Sports add that Spurs are willing to do business on the former PSG defender as they look to raise the cash needed for transfers of their own this summer.

Aurier joined Tottenham from Paris Saint Germain in 2017 and has gone on to play 83 games for the Lilywhites, scoring six goals in that time (Wikipedia).
