Report: Serge Aurier could be offered a Spurs exit in January

Serge Aurier was once again under the spotlight after giving away what proved to be a crucial penalty against Liverpool on Sunday.

With the score level at 1-1 and fifteen minutes remaining on the Anfield clock, the Tottenham Hotspur defender brought Sadio Mane down in the box which allowed Mo Salah to ensure Jurgen Klopp’s side continued their impressive start to the season.

After the match, Aurier came in for heavy criticism from former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane who described the Ivorian as a ‘car crash’ during his punditry appearance on Sky Sports’ Premier League TV channel on 27/10/19 from 7:15pm.

Italian news outlet CalcioMercato are reporting that Serie A giants AC Milan are once again monitoring the right-back’s situation in North London.

A January move appears a possibility for the former PSG player who cost Spurs £23million in 2017 and reportedly told his team-mates during the summer that he was keen to leave the club (The Sun).

Opinion

Aurier has become a figure of frustration among Spurs fans for his unreliability and rash decision making which saw him sent off against Southampton.

He was diabolical in the second half of the heavy defeat to Bayern Munich where he continually failed to closely mark Serge Gnabry, allowing the former Arsenal man to score four goals.
