Report: Serie A club also hold a ‘strong interest’ in Pedro Porro

CalcioMercatoWeb.it have claimed that Juventus have also entered the race to sign Tottenham target Pedro Porro.

There have been endless updates regarding Tottenham’s negotiations with Sporting Lisbon for Porro over the last couple of weeks, with almost all publications reiterating that the Portuguese club would only let the player leave if his £40m release clause is met (Guardian).

Some Spurs fans are understandably getting more and more concerned the longer the negotiations drag on, particularly with reports emerging over recent days that Chelsea (Mundo Deportivo) as well as La Liga duo Atletico Madrid and Barcelona (Record) have also explored a deal for the Spaniard (Record).

CMW.it have now backed up Chelsea’s interest in Porro and they add that another club, in the form of Juve, are also in the race for the Sporting star, with the Old Lady said to hold a ‘strong interest’ in the 23-year-old.

However, the publications suggest that the Blues hold the ‘advantage’ over both Tottenham and Juve in the race for the right-back, with Graham Potter’s men expected to present an offer for the player ‘shortly’.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that multiple outlets are now claiming Chelsea are the frontrunners in the race for Porro, is extremely concerning. It is unclear if it is simply a tactic by Sporting to get Spurs to pay the Spaniard’s release clause or if the Blues have genuinely stepped up their pursuit of the right-back.
