Report: Serie A club are contemplating whether to meet Spurs transfer demands

The latest reports from Italy are now suggesting that Juventus are yet to make a final decision on whether it would be worth meeting Tottenham’s asking price for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Although Hojbjerg has got a reasonable amount of game time over the last couple of months due to Tottenham’s injuries, it is quite evident that the Dane is not particularly well-suited to Ange Postecoglou’s system.

An exit from the North London club seems inevitable for the 28-year-old sooner rather than later, with various outlets over the past few weeks revealing that the midfielder’s top preference is to join Juventus this month (The Athletic).

Deal not straight-forward for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

According to Tuesday’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), while Hojbjerg has become Juventus’ preferred choice, a deal for the midfielder could prove quite complicated for the Serie A side.

The report says dealing with Tottenham ‘isn’t’ easy’ for the Bianconeri, who are contemplating whether to meet the Lilywhites demands for the player.

Meanwhile, another update from Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Massimiliano Allegri is not ‘entirely convinced’ by Hojbjerg and suggests that the Italian club could wait until next summer to land the Spurs star.

Spurs Web Opinion

There will likely be plenty of twists and turns in the Hojbjerg transfer saga over the coming weeks, with other clubs also likely to enter the race for the Dane.

It is clear that the 28-year-old is desperate to leave the club and if Tottenham do sign another central midfielder this month, the former Saints star will end up getting a move, potentially even on loan if a permanent transfer is not feasible.
