According to Calciomercato, Genoa CEO Andres Blazquez has now arrived in London to strike a deal with Tottenham over the permanent transfer of Djed Spence.

Spence impressed on loan at Genoa during the second half of last season and it has been widely reported over the last few days that the Italian club have begun their efforts to land the right-back.
Earlier this week, Fabrizio Romano explained that the Italian side had contacted Spurs over the Englishman, adding that any deal would depend on the price of the operation.
This has now been backed by Calciomercato, who say that Genoa have no intention of activating the €10m (£8.5m) option to buy Spence in the loan agreement.

Genoa seeking discount on Djed Spence deal
Instead, the club are allegedly looking to sign the full-back on a discounted fee, which is why Blazquez has now flown to London to explore the possibility of such a deal.
It is explained it is ‘a difficult but not impossible task’ for Blazquez to convince Daniel Levy as the two clubs have a good relationship.
The Genoa chief is also thought to be close with Fabio Paratici, who continues to work as a consultant for Tottenham, which is why there is hope that the Serie A side can hammer out an agreement.

This seems like the ideal opportunity for Spurs to perhaps explore a deal for Albert Gudmundsson, who seems nailed on to leave Genoa this summer. Perhaps the North London club would be willing to use Spence as a sweetener to land the Iceland international.
