Report: Serie A club ‘confident’ of signing player allegedly on Spurs’ wishlist

According to 90 min, AC Milan are confident of signing rumoured Tottenham target Sven Botman, as well as his Lille teammate Renato Sanches, who has also been linked with a move to Spurs.

The Telegraph revealed earlier this month that signing a left-sided centre-back is a priority for Spurs in the summer and Botman is one of the names who ranks high on the North London club’s wishlist.

The Daily Star subsequently revealed that Spurs were determined to beat Newcastle United to the Netherlands international’s signature after Antonio Conte asked the North London club’s hierarchy to snap up the centre-back.

Meanwhile, Sanches was also mooted as a target for the Lilywhites ahead of the January transfer window, with AS reporting in December that both Tottenham and Arsenal were keen on the Portuguese star.

90 min have now claimed that Milan are expected to beat Tottenham to the signings of both Botman and Sanches, with the Serie A giants said to be ‘confident’ of finalising a double-deal with Lille.

The report adds that the Rossoneri have been in talks with the Ligue 1 club regarding both players since January. It is alleged that Milan will pay around £15m for Sanches and £25m for Botman.

Spurs Web Opinion

Botman, in many respects, would be an ideal fit for us. He would be an upgrade over Ben Davies at left centre-back and given his age, has plenty of time to develop. So, one would expect Tottenham to not allow Milan to have a free run at the 22-year-old.
