Report: Serie A club emerge as contenders to sign Spurs star

According to FC Inter News, Inter Milan are now said to be leading the race to land Christian Eriksen in the January transfer window.

The Dane’s contract with Tottenham runs out next summer and he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a European club next month.

With reports indicating that the 27-year-old will not sign an extension with Spurs, the lilywhites are said to be keen on selling him in January rather than letting him leave for free in the summer ( Evening Standard).

The report by FC Inter News claims that Daniel Levy is prepared to sell him for €40 million in January, a figure than clubs are reluctant to meet.

While Manchester United (90min), Real Madrid (Marca) and Paris Saint-Germain (Mail) are all said to be courting Eriksen, the report suggests that Inter have made a major play for him in recent weeks.

The report goes on to add that the Spurs midfielder likes and appreciates Inter’s interest.

Spurs Web Opinion

While it is clear that Eriksen wants a new challenge, I don’t see the sense in swapping Spurs for Inter as it will be a backwards move in many respects. Given that the likes of PSG and Real Madrid are said to be interested, I don’t believe that the Danish international would consider a move to the Nerazzurri.
