Report: Serie A club have ‘knocked back’ all enquires for midfielder Spurs want

90 min have revealed that Fiorentina have knocked back every single enquiry they have received for Tottenham target Sofyan Amrabat.

Amrabat’s performances at the World Cup have reportedly caught the eye of several clubs, with Foot Mercato reporting earlier this week that Spurs, Liverpool and Inter Milan are eyeing a move for the midfielder in January.

However, it does not appear as though a pursuit of the Moroccan will be straightforward, with Corriere Dello Sport claiming on Thursday that the Viola are prepared to nearly double the 26-year-old’s wages to ward off interest from the Premier League.

90 min have now reported that Spurs have held a ‘long-standing interest’ in Amarabat, stretching back to January of this year, and the North London club remain ‘keen’ on snapping up the midfielder.

However, the report asserts that Fiorentina have not entertained any enquiries so far for the former Club Brugge man.

It is explained that while the Serie A club were willing to discuss loan bids for Amrabat previously, interested clubs would have to ‘force their hand’ with a permanent offer for the player in January.

Fioretine’s determination to hang on to Amrabat until the summer might actually work to Tottenham’s advantage. The central midfielder area is not one that the club will likely look to strengthen in January but Conte might want reinforcements in that area of the pitch at the end of the season.
