Report: Serie A club linked with £47m move for defender Spurs sold for just £13m

CalcioMercatoWeb.it have revealed that Juventus are interested in a big-money move for former Tottenham defender Juan Foyth.

Foyth arrived at Spurs from Estudiantes in the summer of 2017 and showed real promise in the opportunities that came his way under Mauricio Pochettino.

However, the 25-year-old saw himself fall down the pecking order after Jose Mourinho replaced the Argentine at the helm.

After a successful season-long loan spell at Villarreal during the 2020/21 season, the La Liga club activated the option to sign the defender permanently for £12.9m in the summer of 2022 (90min).

CMW.it have now claimed that Foyth’s solid displays for the Yellow Submarine have brought him to the attention of Juve.

The Old Lady are said to be keen on bolstering their backline in the summer and have allegedly identified the former Tottenham man as the right fit.

It is asserted that Massimiliano Allegri’s men would have to meet the centre-back’s €54m (£47.3m) release clause to sign him in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Foyth always had the attributes to evolve into a top-class defender and it is certainly not surprising that he is now on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

However, I doubt Juve or anyone else would be open to meeting the centre-back’s release clause.
