Report: Serie A club looking for a Premier League buyer for rumoured Spurs target

Roma are looking to sell rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Patrik Schick to a Premier League side in order to raise funds this summer, according to a report by Il Tempo (as relayed by Sport Witness).

Signing a back up to Harry Kane is said to be one of Jose Mourinho’s priorities this summer (Telegraph), and Schick is one of the strikers who is said to be on Spurs’ radar.

The striker has spent the season on loan at RB Leipzig and enjoyed a decent return in his first Bundesliga season with seven goals in 19 appearances to date (transfermarkt.com).

The 24-year-old has already admitted that he is attracted by the prospect of playing in the Premier League (iSport.cz).

Il Tempo claim that although Leipzig have an option to buy Schick permanently for €29 million, the Bundesliga outfit are not prepared to pay that amount.

It is said that Roma have cast their attention to the Premier League elite to find a prospective buyer in the hope of getting as close to the €29million asking price as possible.

Tottenham and Arsenal are also mentioned as possible suitors for the centre-forward this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Arkadiusz Milik would be the ideal signing for us to serve as back up to Harry Kane and offer us a plan B from the bench, Schick would also be a decent option as he has similar characteristics to the Polish striker. Reports seem to indicate that he is also likely to cost much less than the Napoli man.
