Report: Serie A club monitoring player Spurs allegedly scouted this season

The Daily Record report that Sassuolo sent a scout to watch Calvin Ramsay in action for Aberdeen at the weekend, with Tottenham continuing to hold an interest in the defender.

The 18-year-old broke through into the Dons’ fold last year and has maintained his position as a regular fixture in Stephen Glass’ line-up.

He was in action for his side’s encounter against Hibernian on Saturday, where he was being tracked by scouts in the stands, according to the Daily Record.

It is noted that Sassuolo were monitoring Ramsay’s performance against Hibs, as well as defender Josh Doig on the opposing side.

He did, however, endure an unfortunate moment during Aberdeen’s 3-1 win, unfortunately turning a cross into his own goal.

Sassuolo’s interest in Ramsay comes after Tottenham were said to have been keeping tabs on him during the January transfer window.

The Press and Journal previously reported that Spurs also scouted him during a fixture against Rangers, but had been joined by Manchester United, Leicester, Southampton and Leeds in the chase.

Spurs Web Opinion

There seems to be plenty of interest in young Ramsay which could drive his price up come the end of the season. Aberdeen will be well aware of that and will use it to their advantage. If Spurs are keen on tying him down, then they will have to submit an offer tempting enough not to be refused.
