Report: Serie A club name £35.3m asking price for Spurs-linked midfielder

Il Bianconero have revealed that it would take a bid of around €40m (£35.3m) to prise Tottenham target, Davide Frattesi, away from Sassuolo this summer.

Frattesi has built on his breakthrough season at Sassuolo last season and has now evolved into one of the most consistent central midfielders in Serie A.

Tottenham’s interest in the 23-year-old first came to light last October when Sassuolo News reported back in October that the Premier League club were monitoring the midfielder’s situation closely.

TuttoMercatoWeb subsequently backed up Spurs’ interest in the midfielder, stating at the start of December that the Lilywhites face competition from both West Ham United and Brighton for the player.

Il Bianconero have now talked up the chances of Frattessi leaving Sassuolo at the end of the season, revealing that the likes of Roma, Juventus, Inter and Brighton are all keen on snapping him up.

The publication explains that the presence of his former boss Roberto De Zerbi at the Amex Stadium might give the Seagulls an advantage in the race for the Italy international.

The report asserts that Sassuolo would only sell Frattessi if their valuation of €40m (£35.3m) is met.

Frattesi is almost sure to make a big move this summer. However, the midfielder might have only been a target for Spurs due to the Italian dispensation at the club.

With Conte no longer in charge and with Paratici having resigned, it remains to be seen if the club would still be interested in the 23-year-old.
