Report: Serie A club ready to replace rumoured Spurs target with 22-year-old

Fiorentina are ready to move for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca should they lose rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic, Calciomercato reports.

Sources from Italy claimed over the weekend that Spurs have been tracking Vlahovic for a long time and have now made contact with the Serbian’s agent over a potential move to North London.

However, it was suggested that Fiorentina remain keen on renewing the 21-year-old’s contract, which has two years left to run.

If Calciomercato’s latest update is to be believed, the Serie A club might now be coming around to the idea of cashing in on the striker.

The report reveals the Viola are planning to replace Vlahovic with Scamacca if the former does depart the Artemio Franchi Stadium before the end of the month.

It is asserted Tottenham face competition from Atletico Madrid and their North London rivals, Arsenal for Vlhaovic’s signature. Fiorentina are thought to value the striker at around €60m (£51.5m).

Spurs Web Opinion

As with many of our other targets this summer, our chances of getting Vlahavoic will be dictated by whether the player signs a new contract in the coming days and weeks. I suspect this deal will drag on till the final few days of the transfer window.
