Report: Serie A club ready to sell alleged Spurs target for £70m this summer

Football Insider have claimed that Inter Milan have decided to cash in on rumoured Tottenham target, Lautaro Martinez, as the Serie A club need to raise funds to pursue their own transfer targets.

Martinez, who has scored 21 goals and provided eight assists across all competitions, is contracted to Inter until 2026 (Transfermarkt).

InterLive.it claimed last week that Spurs could make a move for the Argentine in the summer if they lose Harry Kane.

If Football Insider’s latest update is to be believed, Inter have now put Martinez up for sale ahead of the summer amidst interest from Premier League clubs.

The publication reveals that the Nerazzurri would be willing to sell the 25-year-old for a fee of £70m and have alerted clubs around Europe about his availability.

Interestingly, the report states Manchester United have identified Martinez as an alternative to Kane this summer.

It is explained that while the Tottenham man remains the Red Devils’ top target, they could turn their attention to the Inter star if the England captain is deemed too expensive.

Football Insider add that Real Madrid and Arsenal are also monitoring Martinez, who is said to be keen to play in the Premier League.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Tottenham do lose Kane, Martinez is one of the few players in world football who would be of an acceptable standard of replacement for the 29-year-old.

We know that Spurs have held a long-standing interest in the Argentine but it would be difficult to get him if we do not have Champions League football to offer.
