Report: Serie A club ‘ready to sink the blow’ to sign Tottenham 23-year-old

CalcioMercato.it have claimed that AC Milan are keen to complete a deal for Japhet Tanganga swiftly in order to beat out the competition for the Tottenham man’s signature (via Sportwitness).

Reports over the last few days from Italy have indicated that Milan have accelerated talks over a deal for Tanganga.

The print edition of Corriere dello Sport (18/07/22 via Sport Witness) claimed on Monday that the Rossoneri’s operation to sign the Spurs man is ‘advancing’.

It was claimed that, faced with competition from Napoli for Tanganga, Milan are set to hold fresh talks with both Tottenham and the 23-year-old’s entourage this week.

CalcioMercato.it have now stated that the reigning Serie A champions are ‘ready to sink a blow’ for Tanganga. Milan are said to have set up a meeting with all parties in the hope of striking an agreement.

The report states that Stefano Pioli’s side hope to bring down Tottenham’s asking price for Tanganga, which is thought to stand at €30m (£24.5m).

Calciomercato.it add that Milan are trying to ‘close the operation’ and would prefer to sign Tanganga on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tanganga’s impending departure likely implies that Davinson Sanchez is set to stay. I expected the Colombian to be sold over Tanganga this summer, given Tottenham’s homegrown issues and the fact that Sanchez is likely to fetch a bigger fee. However, it appears as if Conte views Sanchez as being more valuable to the squad than Tanganga.
