Report: Serie A club receive €45m offer for midfielder linked with Spurs

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Fiorentina have received a €45million offer for rumoured Spurs target Gaetano Castrovilli.

The central midfielder has impressed since joining Fiorentina from Serie B side Bari last summer.

His dribbling ability and vision have stood out this season which has subsequently seen him earn his first cap for the Italian national side.

Spurs were linked with a move for the 23-year-old during the January transfer window (FC Inter News) but he ended up staying in Florence.

Everton are also said to hold an interest in the midfielder and have been backed to make an offer for him this summer (Calcio Mercato).

Tuttomercatoweb now name Spurs and Borussia Dortmund as the two main contenders for Castrovilli’s signature.

The report claims that the Fiorentina have already received a €45million offer for the midfielder, although it is not said who the bid was from but are determined to hold on to emerging star.

Spurs Web Opinion

Castrovilli has a bit of Jack Grealish about him, not just with the fact that he has exceeded expectations in the top flight, but also with his ability to pick the ball up in deep areas and go past players. However, I do not see where he would fit in at Spurs with the attacking midfielders we already have at the club.
