Report: Serie A club reject Tottenham’s £21.3m offer for right-wing-back

According to the print edition of Tuttosport (12/05/22 – as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham’s proposal for Wilfried Singo has been turned down by Torino.

Singo has won many admirers with his impressive display at right wing-back for Torino this season, having amassed seven-goal contributions in the Serie A so far (Transfermarkt).

Tuttosport reported last month that Antonio Conte is ‘in love with’ the 21-year-old and claimed that Fabio Paratici is already laying the groundwork to bring him to Spurs this summer.

The same publication have now offered an update on Tottenham’s pursuit of Singo.

It is explained that Conte has insisted on bringing the right-back to Spurs this summer and that Parartici had ‘asked for information directly’ from the Torino chairman Urbano Cairo 20 days ago.

However, Cairo is said to have told the Tottenham managing director that Singo is not for sale. It is explained that Paratici then returned with an ‘important offer’ of €25m (£21.3m) for the player, which was turned down by Torino.

Cairo is said to have informed Spurs that Singo is ‘non-transferable’ during this summer’s transfer window.

The report adds that Torino boss Ivan Juric is ‘betting strongly’ on the Ivorian to continue at the club next season and ‘does not want to compromise’.

Spurs Web Opinion

If this is true, one would expect Spurs to potentially return with an improved offer over the next few weeks. Singo ticks a lot of boxes and it stands to reason that he would be Conte’s and Paraitic’s first choice target for the right wing-back role.
