Report: Serie A club set price for defender in January amid Spurs interest

On the back of reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur, it seems Juventus have set their asking price for Andrea Cambiaso at €20-25m (£17.2-21.4m).

Ange Postecoglou has only had one transfer window so far to make his mark on this Tottenham squad, but the summer has proven to be a very successful venture into the market for the Australian.

Still, with the January window fast approaching, Postecoglou is keen to keep developing the squad and imprinting his identity on the North London club.

One area you wouldn’t expect Postecoglou to be worried about is the left-back role, with Destiny Udogie excelling so far in his debut season with the Lilywhites.

But, with Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon still unavailable through injury, and Ben Davies currently filling in at centre-back, there are murmurs that Spurs may move for a new left-sided defender.

Spurs frontrunners for Andrea Cambiaso

On the list of potential targets is Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso, with Spurs thought to have their eye on the young Italian (CalcioMercato).

Now that same outlet has fresh information regarding the 23-year-old and the potential move to North London, suggesting Juventus would let him go if the right price is agreed.

Despite a “positive start” to the season at Juventus, the Italian side would let Cambiaso leave if an offer of “above €20-25m” (£17.2-21.4m) were to come in from Spurs.

It is said Spurs are in the “front row” when it comes to the race to sign Cambiaso, but the report suggests the Lilywhites may wait until the summer to swoop.

We do need a new left-back eventually, to provide cover for Udogie, but we don’t need that right now, at least not as a priority. When we do make that move for one, however, Cambiaso would be a very good option.
