TuttoMercatoWeb have reported that Lazio must cash in on rumoured Tottenham target Joaquin Correa in order to fund their purchases this summer.
Correa has blossomed since his move to Lazio in 2018 and the versatile attacker, who registered 11 goals and 6 assists in all competitions last season, is said to be the subject of interest from both Spurs and Paris Saint-German.
Multiple other sources from Italy have claimed that Tottenham’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici is keen to bring the attacking midfielder to North London.
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla revealed last week that Lazio had received a €30m (£25.6m) offer from Spurs for the 26-year-old while PSG had made a bid of €10m (£8.5m) plus Pablo Sarabia in exchange for Correa.
TMW have now claimed that Lazio will sell the midfielder in the coming days as Maurizio Sarri looks to put his own imprint on the squad.
It is asserted that in order to help the team to evolve from the 3-5-2 they employed last season, to his trademark 4-3-3, Sarri wants to cash in on Correa and use the funds to sign wide attackers like Felipe Anderson.
Spurs Web Opinion
Given that Sarri does not tend to play with a number ten, I do expect Correa to leave Lazio this summer. However, Nuno has also not tended to deploy a ten, preferring to build attacks by overloading wide areas and often relying on his central midfielders to make the overlaps down the middle. So, I would be surprised if we did snap up the Argentine.
