Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Atalanta are now trying to sign rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target, Sven Botman.

Additions at centre-back are reportedly a priority for Tottenham this summer, with both Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez being linked with a move away from the club.

Previous reports had indicated that Botman was one of the centre-backs being eyed by the North London club.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed an exceptional first season at Lille after his move from Heerenveen last summer and the solid partnership that he formed with Jose Fonte at the back played a pivotal role in Les Dogues’ march to the Ligue 1 title.

The young centre-back is rumoured to be valued at around €45m (£39m) by Lille.

Romano has now revealed that Atalanta are keen on landing Botman, with the Serie A side establishing the Netherlands international as their number one target.

The journalist added that Gian Piero Gasperini’s side hope to beat several Premier League clubs to the central defender’s signature.

Most of our links to Botman came when Mourinho was still at the club and before the appointment of Fabio Paratici as the club’s managing director of football. It is possible that our wishlist has likely changed following the Italian’s arrival. So, it remains to be seen if we will make a move for the Lille star.
