Report: Serie A clubs finding Spurs’ asking price for player to be ‘remarkable’

Corriere Dello Sport have suggested that both Napoli and Fiorentina are finding Tottenham’s asking price for Giovani Lo Celso to be too high.

Fiorentina have been mooted as one of the potential destinations for Lo Celso so far this summer (The Times). Area Napoli claimed earlier this week that Napoli could also enter the race for the Argentine’s signature.

The report asserted that Luciano Spalletti’s side really like the Tottenham man had identified him as a potential replacement for Piotr Zielinski, who is a target for West Ham United.

Apart from the two aforementioned clubs, Villarreal are also thought to be keen on snapping up Lo Celso (Fabrizio Romano) while AC Milan (Pianeta Milan) and AS Roma (CalcioMercatoWeb) have also been mooted as potential destinations.

Corriere have now confirmed that both Napoli and Fiorentina are eyeing a summer move for the midfielder. However, it is alleged that Tottenham want €20m- €25m (£16.7m-£20.9m) for Lo Celso – a fee which the two clubs are said to find ‘remarkable’

If anything, I think Lo Celso is undervalued at £20m. He would be a hit both in Italy and Spain and is arguably worth £25m at least.

However, the problem is that not a lot of clubs outside the Premier League have money to spend this summer, which is why we might not get market value for the Argentine.
