Report: Serie A giants agree new contract with Spurs-linked youngster

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Juventus have successfully managed to tie down rumoured Tottenham target Samuel Iling-Junior to a new contract.

Iling-Junior had impressed for Juventus’ youth sides since leaving the Chelsea academy to join the Italian giants back in 2020.

The forward has broken into Massimiliano Allegri’s first team this season, having registered two assists in the three substitute appearances he has made in the Serie A and the Champions League (Transfermarkt).

Tuttosport reported last month that the winger was attracting the attention of several clubs across Europe in light of his displays for Juve, particularly due to the fact that his contract at the Allianz Stadium was due to run out at the end of the season.

The report explained that Fabio Paratici had spearheaded the signing of Iling-Junior during his time at Juve and that the Italian was now looking to reunite with the England Under-20 international at Spurs.

However, it now looks like the Lilywhites’ pursuit of the 19-year-old might be over, with Romano taking to social media to reveal that the youngster has agreed a new deal with the Bianconeri that runs until 2027.

Juve were always going to do their best to tie Iling-Junior down to a new deal, particularly given the impact he has had this season. So, this news does not come as a surprise.

Paratici will likely continue to have an eye on the 20-year-old’s development, given that the Spurs managing director seems to have been the one who identified the teenager as a target for Juve a couple of years ago.
