Report: Serie A side could offer out of favour Spurs player a deadline day exit

Tottenham Hotspur’s forgotten man, Victor Wanyama could be offered a route out of North London ahead of the closure of the transfer window later today.

Gazzetta Dello Sport report that Serie A side Napoli are keen on making a move for the Kenyan international.

Wanyama is said to have come close to leaving the Champions League finalists in the summer when a £13.6million deal was agreed with Club Brugge, only for the transfer to fall through (BBC).

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has previously admitted that he would like to bring the 28-year-old back to Parkhead, but was doubtful a move would happen for financial reasons (Herald Scotland).

Wanyama made a solid start to his career at Tottenham following an £11million switch from Southampton in 2016 but has since struggled with knee injuries.

He has found himself down on the midfield pecking order behind the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Gedson Fernandes and Oliver Skipp.
