Report: Serie A side set to make offer for Tottenham defender

Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga is set to be the subject of a transfer offer from AC Milan, according to journalist Ekrem Konur on Twitter.

Tanganga was given playing time in both matches of Spurs’ pre-season tour of South Korea having missed the end of the last Premier League season as a result of a knee injury sustained in February (Transfermarkt).

The Spurs academy product was not able to break into Antonio Conte’s preferred back three of Cristian Romero, Eric Dier, and Ben Davies and has subsequently been linked to a move away from N17 this summer with both AC Milan and Bournemouth credited with interest (Daily Mail).

Konur has reported that Serie A champions Milan are set to present an offer to Spurs in the hopes of landing the England Under-21 international.

Despite recent noise regarding his future, the 23-year-old has insisted that he is focused on being back in training with his teammates and that he is ignoring speculation (Football.London).

I would love to see Japhet go to Italy and get some much-needed first-team experience. Fikayo Tomori’s spell with Milan has seen him inspire them to a first Scudetto since 2011, proving that young English talent can blossom in other leagues.

I hope Fabio Paratici ensures that it is only a loan deal as in my opinion, Tanganga has a future at Spurs.
