Report: Serie A star remains in contract dispute with club amidst Spurs links

Reported Tottenham target Ivan Perisic remains at war with Inter Milan over a new contract this season, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

Perisic, 32, has less than six months remaining on his current deal with the Nerazzurri, meaning he could be available as a free agent at the end of the season.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Croatia international is keen to sign fresh terms with the reigning Serie A champions, but a disparity between himself and the club continues to exist.

TuttoMercatoWeb claim the two parties remain considerably far apart in their requests with little progress being made at present.

The report states Perisic is demanding at least a two-year contract with a considerable increase on his current earnings, while Inter want to shed their wage bill to ease their financial issues.

It comes after Tottenham were interested in signing Perisic throughout the January transfer window, looking to acquire the winger should a cut-price deal have become available (Mirror).

Spurs Web Opinion

Perisic doesn’t seem to be the type of profile that Tottenham typically go for, but he could be a useful option for a season or two if the club can get him for free.

He is still a useful option for Inter currently, but the issue is just how much he wants for his next contract considering his age.
