Report: Serie A star Spurs allegedly enquired about prefers Juventus transfer

Alfredo Pedulla has revealed that AS Roma winger Nicolo Zaniolo, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, prefers the idea of joining Juventus this summer.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported last month that Fabio Paratici held a meeting with representatives from Roma in which potential deals for Zaniolo and Joe Rodon were discussed.

This was subsequently backed up by Il Messaggero, who claimed that Roma had offered Spurs, Juventus and AC Milan the chance to sign the 23-year-old on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy at around €45m-€50m (£38.6-£42.9m).

Since then, however, Spurs have strengthened their forward line with the signing of Richarlison from Everton, and so it is unclear whether the North London club have abandoned their pursuit of the Roma star.

Pedulla has now revealed that Zaniolo looks set to leave the Stadio Olimpico this summer, and added despite links to foreign clubs, the Italy international looks most likely to move to Juventus.

The journalist added that Juve have already held meetings with the player’s representatives and are now ‘looking for a solution’ that would satisfy Roma.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect Tottenham viewed the likes of Zaniolo and Raphinha as potential backups to Richarlison in case a deal for the Everton star did not materialise. Now that we have secured the Brazilian, we are well stacked in the forward areas and are likely to be eyeing additions in other areas of the pitch.
